FOURTH GRADE SCIENCE
Thanks to the education programs sponsored by the Cape Cod National Seashore, Fourth Grade spends an overnight at the Eastham Coastguard Station in early April. You can browse the seashore's website to learn about many of the places we learn about. These include Salt Pond, Doane Rock, Nauset Marsh, Nauset Barrier Dunes, Fort Hill, and the Red Maple Swamp.
One year long fourth grade science project involves organizing our school's recycling program. Every Tuesday afternoon fourth graders visit every classroom and office in the building picking up filled recycle bins and providing empty receptacles for the coming week's recyclables. Working in cooperation with the Town of Truro Department of Public Works, students help develop a recycling ethic throughout our school community. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts supports this effort through The Green Team, an environmental club for Massachusetts school. for more information check out their website at The Green Team .
