Fourth Grade News

2012 has kicked off to a running start in fourth grade!  We have begun our unit on the solar system.  Each student will be studying one aspect of our solar system and will be responsible for recreating that element in our class planetarium.
                In math we are studying “big numbers”.  Tied in with our solar system unit, we will be talking about scale, numbers in the millions, billions and trillions, and practicing multiplication with multiple digits.
                In writing, we will be shifting our focus from narrative writing to expository.  We will composing four to five paragraph reports on our planets as well as practicing how to pull evidence from various types of writing to support our answers to questions.
