Kindergarten Chinese New Year Parade

Can you guess where I am?
Picture
I am at Highland Light watching the full moon rise!  What shape is the moon? Yes! It is a sphere. Look at the other 3D shapes I found at Highland Light...
Picture
The giant sphere is a radar unit. Do you see how the roof of the house next to it is a triangular prism? The Jenny Lind tower is a cylinder!
Picture
Picture
Highland Light is almost a cylinder. It gets thinner near the top. We say it "tapers" at the top, which means it isn't a true cylinder. Keep looking for 3D shapes!

Kindergarten at TCS

The kindergarten at Truro Central School uses developmentally appropriate materials and activities to teach the curriculum. Students explore concepts through play and active, hands on learning experiences .

"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."
Mr. Rogers

"A happy childhood lasts forever"
