"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds on in its net of wonder forever."

                                                                                                                             -Jacques Cousteau

Dear Teachers,

This Webquest was born from my once in a lifetime trip to the equatorial Pacific with NOAA's Teacher at Sea Program.  In October of 2007, I traveled from Charleston, SC, through the Panama Canal and out to the Pacific Ocean to study the interaction between the ocean and atmosphere with many scientists from all over the world.  Upon my return, the media specialist and I put together this OCEANQUEST Webquest as a way for me to share my experiences with my class.  I hope you find it useful in your classroom as well.

The Webquest is set up so that it can be used as a whole class project with each student taking on a role as part of the scientific team, or each lesson could be taught separately to an entire class.

I encourage you to take a look at NOAA's Teacher at Sea program if you have any interest in becoming a future Teacher at Sea.  http://teacheratsea.noaa.gov/ Also, please feel free to visit the blog from my amazing trip through the Panama Canal, out to the equatorial Pacific, and the Galapagos Islands.
