Take a Reading Safari!

The week of January 22 kicked an exciting reading incentive program sponsored by the TCS Media Center and TCS Title I Program.  Students in grades K-6 will each receive a copy of a Reading Safari Map.  To complete the Safari, each student must read five books at theirapproxiamate reading level.  [So, sixth graders, I shouldn't see The Very Hungry Caterpillar on your lists!!  ;o) ]   When a book is finished, share a summary with an adult and have them sign your Map.  Once all five books are read, bring your Map to Ms. Klimkosky.  You'll receive your treasure...your choice of a "Bentcil"--a pencil twisted into the shape of a penguin or a dinosaur.

Grownups...Please encourage your child to participate by reading with him or her and signing their Safari Map.  In addition to books read at home, students can enter books completed at school as well.  All they need to do is have a grown up sign their passport.

There is no deadline to complete the Reading Safarit…just KEEP READING!

Here are just some of our readers...
