Family Involvement Program
For the many years the CPC (Truro Central School preschool family group) has raised money to fund monthly programs for preschool families. These programs have alternated between evening presentations by experts about parenting issues and afterschool activities for children and adults to do together. Evening programs always include childcare and pizza in order to maximize access for all families. A survey distributed to preschool and kindergarten families a few years ago indicated a strong interest in continuing these programs with a preference for after school activities for children and adults. Therefore, the focus will be primarily on this type of program this year. The goals and benefits of this program are as follows.
Evening Presentations of parenting topics:
Family Involvement Program Tentative Schedule
November: After School Activity, Wampanoag Daily Life, Now and Long Ago, Lynne Ready
December: CPC meeting/conversation with Lynne Newton-Surviving the Holidays, kindergarten invited
January: After School Activity, Bedtime Story in the Book Nook
February: CPC Meeting/Red Van Road Show, Media Awareness, the Children’s Place (tentative) kindergarten invited
March: After School Activity, Math Games, Ariana Bradford
April: After School Activity, Puppet Workshop with Abby Roderick
May: After School Activity, Introduction to the Art Room with Kim Possee
