Second Step
Dear Families,
If you would like to have access to family resources related to the Second Step program, the Social Emotional Learning curriculum that I instruct weekly in every classroom Pre-K through 5, please go to app.seocndstep.org to create an account using the appropriate activation key for the grade level of your student. Ask your chid to demonstrate belly breathing while watching the video (K-3), listen to the songs (all grades), have your child teach you the Calm-It-Down Dance (Grades 2 & 3), or watch the music videos (
Grades 4 & 5). Attached are a few of the Second Step posters you may have seen in the hallways of TCS, good reminders for students and grownups alike!

Zones of Regulation
Attached are the the Zones of Regulation and Size of the Problem posters with which your children grades K-6 are familiar. Let them teach you about the zones and your entire family might choose to do a daily check in. Check in with them about the strategies they can use to help move from one zone to another! The Size of the Problem visual is another useful tool to help us recognize if our reaction to a problem matches the actual size of the problem. At TCS we like to call the smallest problems "glitches"!
