Superintendent Michael B. Gradone
Dear TCS Families,
Happy New Year to us all, as we hope 2021 is a big improvement over the year just left behind.
Thank you for all you’ve done to make the last few months of 2020 as good as they could be for our children. We’ve been remarkably lucky, without a single case of COVID 19 at Truro Central, but good luck often follows hard work, and we’ve all worked hard to keep our children safe. With a vaccine on the horizon, and perhaps some real progress against the pandemic by the end of the school year, let’s all double down on our commitment to keep our kids, and the entire school community, as safe as we possibly can.
For us here at school, that means recommitting ourselves to safe distancing, masks at all times, and washing our hands as often as necessary. Our staff, and your children, will hear that message frequently.
We hope you, too, can continue to be as careful as you’ve been since September, as we work through what we hope are the last few months of the threat. Keep contacts outside your household to a necessary minimum, and take precautions when you’re with those who aren’t part of the immediate family. Contact our School Nurse, Helen Grimm, if you have questions about the virus, especially about whether someone in your family has been in contact with someone who has tested positive. She can be reached at (508) 487-1558 x 205 or by email at grimmh@truromass.org. We’ve established a text chain here at school, so Helen will be in touch right away with several of us, to address any concerns you might have. Together, we’ve made a difference so far. Together is the way we’ll get through the rest of the school year.
Thank you for making the Town, and Truro Central School in particular, such a supportive community.
Stay safe and well,
Mike Gradone, Superintendent
